FIA under establishement in Murmansk region

The initiative to establish an association of foreign investors in Murmansk region was taken by representattives of foreign business. The experience with such associations is very positive all over the world. These associations are often important cooperation partners with local authorities. The authorities in Murmansk region welcome establishment of such association.

01 June 2007 the Governor of Murmansk region Yuriy Evdokimov addressed a letter to the director of “SIVA-TECH AS” Geir Reiersen where he supported the initiative of the association establishment. He also underlined that the establishment of foreign investors association would contribute to further Russian-Norwegian cooperation, effective dialogue conducting with the authorities and investment attraction into the region.

The association has the following tasks: to contribute to the common interests of foreign investors in Murmansk region; to be a centre for exchange of information and opinions between international and local business companies; to be a centre for exchange of information and opinions between international business companies and the regional Government of Murmansk; to support the regional Government and municipalities at all levels in Murmansk region, support the further development of the principles of progress and fair business practice.

Two meetings of the investors association have already been held in Murmansk. Representatives from such companies as DnB Nor Monchebank, SpareBank, Tele2, OOO Flait, Maritime Logistics, FMC Technologies and Tekko took part in the meetings.

Vice Governor of Murmansk region – The Head of Department of Economic Development Talichkin Valeriy Aleksandrovich and the Head of Foreign Economic Relations Section Alekseev Evgeniy Ivanovich took part in the 1st meeting of FIA and welcomed the initiative for Foreign Investors Association establishment with a supportive speech.
